GLASGOW QUEEN ELIZABETH UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Activity: Category III Containment Laboratories : Maintenance Support
Part of an £840million hospital development with £90 million of laboratory space, the new high-level containment facility at Glasgow Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is regarded as one of the most advanced and prestigious in Europe.
Design features include high-level security systems, emergency fumigation processes, ‘through-wall’ autoclaves and a range of Atlas Clean Air Class I Microbiological Safety Cabinets.
The total value of the works exceeded £1.2 million and comprised a full ‘turnkey’ provision from initial design reviews and liaison with specialist architects and security advisers through to the build process and full documentary validation.
5 years post completion, Atlas Clean Air continues to provide full planned and reactive services to the facility, where maintenance contracts have been secured for Cat 3 laboratory testing and maintenance of eight Atlas Safety Cabinets.
